Stephen Drew is a man with a mission: he wants to provide the best quality frozen meals at the best possible prices, using the best of British ingredients. As the managing director of Millifoods Limited, an award-winning producer of traditional meat dishes and innovative vegetarian dishes, this trained chef makes it his business to use British suppliers and manufacturers, and employ local workers. 'I don't think British businesses do enough to support each other,' he explains, so he sticks to local farmers, even if their produce is not the least expensive.

Stephen is also keen to exploit the best that Britain has to offer when it comes to doing his accounts, so he and his financial adviser selected Liberty. 'When Millifoods had the opportunity to buy its own factory, it needed to move fast,' says accountant Ray Backler, and the company didn't have time to waste sourcing and installing a traditional accounting application.

'Because Liberty is an online accounting software solution, we could start using it immediately from any PC with a browser,' explains Ray, and because it offers an integrated bookkeeping and payroll solution, Millifoods was able to expand its operation and its staff with minimal complications. 'The only alternative would have been to employ a full time bookkeeper,' he adds, 'and spend a lot of time and money setting up a new accounting system.'
